Enrollment & Eligibility
Families interested in enrolling at the Center are encouraged to take a tour. If a family is interested in placing their child at the Center then an application for the waiting list will need to be completed. As a College Campus facility, parents need to understand that the Center is a training site for students in the field of Child Development. Students observing or in training are part of the program. The Center may also have volunteers in the classrooms. These individuals are under the supervision of the contracted staff
When there is an enrollment opening at the Center, the family will be notified. There is State funding for students that are income eligible. The student must be enrolled in at least six (6) units each semester or three (3) units in the summer. The tuition may be free or there will be a partial pay depending on income. Community and Staff families are responsible for the tuition fees. These fees are paid on a monthly basis.
Children are placed in an appropriate age group according to chronological age and developmental level. Children are not necessarily placed in the next age group on their birthday. Placement is determined by available space, development and/or when the group is moving as a whole. Classrooms are divided as follows: Evergreens – 18 months to 2.5 years old, Sunbeams and Morning Glories – 2.5 years to 5 year olds. When children move from the Evergreens room to either the Sunbeams or Morning Glories, the child will remain in that class until they reach kindergarten age. This provides continuity of care for the child and their family.
In order to be admitted, children must present an immunization record, signed/stamped by a physician or other medical professional, which shows that all currently required immunizations have been received. Physical exam forms do not meet this requirement. A number of additional forms required by Community Care Licensing must be completed prior to a child’s actual attendance in the classroom.
