2011 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference First Team

Four Coyotes were honored with First Team Nominations for their performance during the 2011 Season.  Awards went to Sophomore Midfielder Annie Garcia and Freshman Defenders Marlyn Huerta,  Megan McDermand and Forward Laura Kohl.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2012

The Lady Coyotes raised a total of $1800 for Breast Cancer Research.  All Money Raised was donated to the Susan G Komen for a Cure Foundation.


PCAC honors Coyotes' Laura Kohl as Women's Athlete of the Week

The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference has Honored Cuyamaca College Soccer Player Laura Kohl and Palomar Volleyball player Jaycee Arthur as Women's Athletes of the week.

Kohl, a freshman forward from Granite Hills High School, has scored in each of her last 3 games as the Coyotes, who have lost only to unbeaten Miramar, won three more times to advance to 12-1-4 on the season, 9-1-2 in conference.

Kohl, who is tied for the Coyotes' team lead in points, scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Mira Costa, tallied the only goal in a 1-0 victory over San Diego Mesa and added a goal in a 5-2 win vs Palomar.

Coyotes defeat #5 in the Nation Santa Barbara in injury time.

Santa Barbara, Oct.13th  Coyotes take advantage of the BYE week to take on one of the top teams in the Nation in # 5 Santa Barbara.  In perfect Playoff atmosphere both teams went after each other with their attacking formations.  Jo Lawlor put the Vaqueros ahead 1-0 in the 30th minute with a floated ball that was able to get over the defense and into the goal.

Laura Kohl tied the non-conference game with a 25 yard shot in the 60th minute off a corner.  Kohl also was able to assist in the final goal finding Katie Rollins on the flank as she broke behind the defense and put the game winner in with No time lift in the game.  Referee added 5 minutes of injury time but it did not matter with the Coyotes fired up and ready for the happy long drive home. 

The win would keep the Coyotes undefeated on the season and on put them on top of the Southern Section for the first time in team history.


PCAC honors Coyotes' Stewart as Women's Athlete of the Week

Jacquelyn StewartThe Pacific Coast Athletic Conference has named Cuyamaca College Soccer Player Jacquelyn Stewart and Grossmont Volleyball Player Chelsea Almario as Women's Athletes of the week.

Stewart, a freshman forward from Granite Hills High School, is a major reason the Coyotes are unbeaten on the season and tied for first place in the conference with Miramar.  Last week, Stewart scored all three goals in a 3-1 win over San Diego City College and played a key role setting up teammates as Cuyamaca handed Mira Costa its first conference loss 2-1

August 30

The Lady Coyotes began their season with a 1-1 draw against Pierce College on Tuesday.  Pierce Came into the game ranked #18 in the Nation in Preseason Polls and former #1 in Southern California.  The Game was a battle, as it always is when these two teams face each other.  The Coyotes put themselves on the board first with a great through ball by Sophomore Brittany Sauls to Freshman Linda Ramirez in the 24th Minute.  The Brahmas responded a little later on a throw in to level the score.  In the second half both teams had several chances for the winner, including a few that hit off the post, but neither could find the back of the net.

 The Coyotes Continue a tough Road schedule this week traveling to Ventura College for games on Thursday and Saturday, and then get ready to Travel up to Santa Barbara the following Friday.



Junior college soccer teammates reunited in Ottawa

Many new college students experience a huge fear among people. Being alone.

However, three Ottawa University women soccer players, Nichole Bishop, Amber Webb and Kristi French, donít have those worries.

The trio attended Cuyamaca Community College together and have come to Ottawa to continue their collegiate careers.
