Dr. Rachel Rosenthal
Folsom Lake College
Dr. Rachel Rosenthal is currently the President of Folsom Lake College in Folsom, California. She joined Folsom Lake College in July 2012 and has twenty years of experience in the California Community College system in both single- and multi-college systems. Along with Folsom Lake College, she worked at Sierra College for five years as Vice President of Instruction and thirteen years at American River College (ARC) as Dean of Planning and Research, Dean of Mathematics, and mathematics professor. She served as Accreditation Liaison Officer at both Sierra College and ARC, and has served on multiple accreditation teams.
Prior to entering the community college system, she worked as a registered engineer designing natural gas plants in Texas and Oklahoma, then moved to California where she worked for Caltrans, designing seismic retrofits for the highways in LA. Dr. Rosenthal holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and a master’s degree in applied mathematics, both from the University of California, Davis, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California State University, Sacramento, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University.
