Under the supervision of an approved field placement site, students will participate in recreational program activities in an outdoor education or camp facility. Students will take part in planned recreational activities, develop and implement learning adventures, supervise groups of multi-aged children using positive group management techniques, respond to individual needs, participate in all aspects of camp life including meal preparation and service, setting up, taking down and maintaining outdoor equipment, and assuring the health, safety and enjoyment of camp participants.
Prerequisite: CD 125, 200, 201 or equivalent with a grade of “C” or better or “Pass”
Recommended Preparation: None
1 UNIT: 75 hours paid or 60 hours unpaid work experience
Note: Fingerprinting will be required for field experience site and some sites may require CPR certification.
