Traditional freshman composition course. Students will study the elements
and principles of composition through the practice of writing narrative and
expository essays and a research paper. Utilizing word processing in the
computer lab, revision is stressed as a means of achieving effective skills
in writing. Assigned readings stimulate critical thinking and effective
writing. Emphasis on using outside sources and documenting them according to
MLA format.
