Annex Relocates to Liberty Station

Big News: The Ray Street Annex is moving! I've decided to enlarge my studio and become part of the quickly-growing artist community at NTC Liberty Station. The new space is almost twice the size and feels airy and luxurious - we'll be upstairs in a room with hardwood floors, five windows, double entry doors, and even a suite number - #209. (Elevator, ample free parking, custodian-managed restrooms - oh my.) My last class at the 'old' Annex will be March 23. After about two weeks of down-time, we'll have a studio-warming at the new site in early April. Read on for more details!

New Name for a New Space

Starting April 4,
Ray Street Annex becomes:
Anneville Studio
2750 Historic Decatur Road, Suite 209
San Diego, CA 92106
619-488-7540
anne@annevillestudio.com

Located northwest of the airport but easily accessible via Rosecrans or Barnett, NTC Liberty Station is the location of a former naval training center. My space is actually in an old barracks building - #15. Let's hear it for art taking over spaces no longer needed for military purposes - it's a good thing!

Spring at Noel-Baza Fine Art

My work has been selling great at Noel-Baza Fine Art, the only place (outside my studio) in San Diego to see/buy my production jewelry. They just sold this bracelet on the right - I remember starting it as a sample in one of my mokume-gane patterning classes. It turned out so well, I stayed late after class one night, finishing it after all the students had left.
So if you'd like to see my work and it isn't one of my First Friday open studio nights, stop by Noel-Baza Fine Art - it is in Little Italy, on India just north of Hawthorne.

A big reason it will be so hard to say goodbye to my little space off Ray Street is because of the fond memories I have of my students. I taught over 200 students in those 6 years, everything from tool-making to mokume-gane to stone-setting. I loved hearing all their stories and getting to know them.
I welcome you all to make the trek with me to Liberty Station and get to know the 'new Annex' - Anneville Studio. See you there soon for new classes and new adventures!

- Anne
