This
research guide has been prepared by your instructor and your librarian
to help you complete your Business research assignment.
Searches for company information,
you'll need answers to these questions:
- Is the company U.S.-owned, or
does it part of an international corporation?
Some quick places to check for capsule profiles are
Hoovers ,
Wall Street Research Network(WSRN),
and Yahoo.
You can go to Hoover's Online
to read capsules of more than 10,000 public companies. The
complete profiles require a subscription on that site. Brief
profiles of more than 1,600 companies are available at
WetFeet.com

Washington Post's Top Private Companies

Company Index provides information on several companies, and
not only gives them a score and rank according to several
categories, but also compares them within their industry.
- Company Index'Corporate
Financials Online provides news from several U.S. companies.
- EDGAR
is a database that provides the annual reports (10K) and other
valuable documents filled with the SEC by publicly-held
companies.

Thomas Register of American Manufacturers you can find
valuable information on companies, products and/or services.
First click on "Free Membership & More", fill out a form, and
assign yourself a member ID and a password.

Yahoo!s Business and Economy:Companies category with
companies listed by type of business.

Wall Street Research Net you can search U.S., Canadian or
International companies by name or ticker symbol, and receive
valuable information such as: SEC fillings, current quotes,
stock graph, Stockmaster quotes and charts, and company news.
