The Articles of Confederation
Avalon Yale Project provides the text of the Articles of Confederation which was the first constitution of the United States from 1781 to 1789.  Includes links to the U.S. Consititution and the Annapolis Convention  where delegates met to discuss how to address defects in the federal government. 
Biographical Directory of the United States Congress
The directory allows users to search for current and former members of Congress (1774-present) by name, position, or state. Information provided includes birth and death dates, education, employment and election history.
 
Congressional Research Reports
Released by Senators Tom Daschle and Harry Reid, this website provides unprecedented access to these non-partisan research reports. About 300 reports, or 10% of the total number, are presented. Either search or browse by subject, name, or number. 
The Constitution of the United States
Includes the full text of the Constitution with the names of the signers as well as links to the Bill of Rights (the first ten amendments) and  the other 17 amendments.  The site allows the user to search the Constitution for specific words or passages.  Also includes additional information about the Constitution and its creation. 
The Declaration of Independence
Provides the text of the Declaration of Independence with the names of the signers and additional information on how it came about.

Considered one of the best government sites, this page includes Federal sites by branch of government, consortium and quasi-official agencies, and independent establishments and government corporations. 
Project Vote Smart
Non-partisan group gathering and distributing biographical history, voting records, campaign finances and promises and performance evaluations about elected officials and candidates.
