What is 4Faculty.org?

4Faculty.org is an online professional development network of resources and learning modules designed specifically for the needs of community college faculty. 4Faculty.org guides faculty through the maze of issues they will deal with, such as establishing focused learning objectives, creating informative syllabi, making a positive first impression, addressing various learning styles, and using technology effectively. It familiarizes faculty with the need to be sensitive to all types of diversity, including learning differences, ethnicity differences, disabilities, new immigrants, and more. 4Faculty.org is a non-commercial program developed by community colleges for community colleges. We believe the resources offered will help faculty reach students more effectively and enhance the teaching and learning experience.

Building a Library Research Web Site

With the Internet, the whole process of library research has reached a new level of complexity. What happens now as your students do their research from home via the Internet? What happens when general search engines like Yahoo cannot reach what some call the “Invisible Web”? How can you prepare students for library research, especially those students for whom the Internet is not their “second nature” or for those who believe the Internet has all the answers?

Take this opportunity to spend two hours with Kari Wergeland. Kari will work with you to build a web-based information competency module.
