Part-time faculty that teach semester length classes are responsible
for completing one hour of Professional Development for each instructional
hour they teach per week (the same number of hours that the class
meets per week, not the number of units of the course.)
Part-time faculty are encouraged to fulfill their Professional Development
hours by attending college-sponsored Professional Development activities
listed in the
Professional Development Week Calendar.
A Professional Development Activity "Record of Attendance" Form (downloadable
forms) must be submitted to the Office of the
Administrator by the end of Professional Development Week.
Part-time faculty who need to fulfill their Professional Development hours
through other (outside) activities
must receive pre-approval
from the Professional Development Administrator by submitting an
"Individual Activity Proposal," by Saturday of Professional Development
week. A "Completed Activity Form", along with proof of completion,
must be received by the
Administrator by the last Friday in
September for Fall, and by the last Friday in February for Spring
but no earlier than the first day of Flex Week.
Both of these forms can be downloaded in
either PDF or Word formats by visiting our
