New Part Time Faculty Orientation
Wednesday, January 19
6:00pm to 9:00pm (3 flex hours)

presented by Madelaine Wolfe and Danene Brown, madelaine.wolfe@gcccd.edu
Workshop Number: CC-S-410
Location: E-223

The New Faculty Orientation presents an overview of Cuyamaca Colleges services and resources for faculty and students, faculty processes, and procedures. A review of online resources as well as a College Catalog, Class Schedule, campus map, Student Code of Conduct, important phone numbers and contact people will be provided. We will introduce the Colleague System and how faculty class rosters and class management tools and the electronic grade submission process is implemented. The balance of the time is spent with more interactive experiences that vary each semester. Other activities may include: (1) a panel of students who provide insight into what it is, at the first class meeting, that indicates a good instructor and a not-so-good instructor as well as what it is throughout the semester that keeps them engaged, (2) seasoned instructors who often drop by to share some of their best practices and strategies for survival, especially in classes.
