Workshop Number: CC-S-200
Location: B-171
This workshop will discuss some unique opportunities for your students to combine classroom learning with off-campus discoveries through service-learning. Service-learning, which can be incorporated into a variety of courses, enables students to apply classroom learning with hands-on experiences that not only broadens their educational horizons, but enables them to participate in meaningful community service activities. By connecting curricular and co-curricular experiences, students can apply the concepts and theories learned in your classroom through off-campus experiences that directly pertain to their studies, reflect on their experiences, and see firsthand the benefits of civic engagement. Participants will leave this workshop with several examples of how service-learning can be incorporated into their classroom.
