Learning Theories and Learning Styles: How Students Learn Best (4 hours) This course provides an overview of learning theories relevant to career and technical education (CTE) that emphasizes the importance of teaching not only technical skills but also higher order thinking, problem solving, and collaborative skills to prepare workers for entry into and advancement in the workplace. Learning styles will be defined and the importance of understanding the differences among learning styles to enhance student learning. Career and technical education instructors will gain knowledge of how to incorporate constructivist/contextual learning theory and accommodate various learning styles when designing their curriculum.
