Historical survey of the indigenous people
through the North American continent from the earliest recorded
knowledge to 1850. Attention given to Indian perspectives of Indian
perspectives of native and non-native cultures. The influence of
American Indians on the Federal Constitution and the political
philosophies of Early Americans will be studied. Indian political
organization and its parallels and differences in Early American
political organizations and philosophies are studied. Particular
attention given to legislation and its impact on Indian culture and
society. |
