ue
to lead the Cuyamaca men this
week against the toughest
competition yet as they finished
8th place at the Southern
California Preview meet. This
meet brings out the vast
majority of the best teams in
the south and the Coyote Men
confirmed their 8th place
ranking in So Cal with their 8th
place finish today with a total
of 299 points.
Lee McAllister lead the men for
the first time this season as he
finished the 4 mile course in
22:01 just ahead of Emmanuel
Corvera who finished in 22:03,
Aaron Geisel finished quickly to
join the first two under 23
minutes with his time of 22:57.
Austin Kelley had his best
finish to date as he was the 4th
finisher for the Coyotes with a
new PR of 23:16, Fellow freshmen
Ryan Maize had a great day to
finish in 23:32. Trying to
preserve their top 7 spot on the
team was Connor Macky and
Alfredo Beltran who finished in
times of 23:41 and 23:55
respectively.
In the overflow race the B team
for Cuyamaca finished in 7th out
of 12 teams. Running on the B
team was Tony Gonzalez, Jesse
Beason, Matt Jorge, Tanner
Perfect, Jonathan Cui, Dallas
Champman, Dan Oberbauer and
Tyler Rocho.
The Women's team continued their
successful 2012 as they finish
in 14th out of 27 teams. In the
first 3 meets this year the
women have one win and in the
other two meets have only lost
to teams ranked in Southern
California.
Paige Hughes was the first
across the line for the Coyotes
with a time of 19:41.With
temperatures well into the 100's
the remaining ladies held on for
respectable times. Betty
Covarrubias 22:14 and Seleena
Boubion 22:40 in her first race
of the season. Kailene Gini was
4th for the team with a time of
22:46 and Ashley Fishman rounded
o
ut
the top 5 in 23:25. Rounding out
the top 7 was Sarah Snyder and
Kailin Anderson.
The Coyotes will have a week off
before returning to competition
the following week at the
Foothill Invite.
